Lots of snow, icy conditions Tuesday morning

A winter storm moved through leaving plenty of snow for plows to move Tuesday morning.

Highway 21 between Amberley and Southampton is still closed.

Because of the closure, some school bus routes in Bruce County are affected.

Road conditions across the region, including Huron, Perth Bruce, Grey and Wellington, are described as snow covered to partly snow covered. Visibility along Highway 21 between Goderich and Amberley is reduced. Visibility is also reduced along Highway 9 between Mildmay and Harriston.

The significant weather events declared by Grey County and Huron County are now over but caution is being urged when driving because of the conditions. There was also significant weather event declared in Bruce County.

Along with snow, roads can be very slippery.

Perth County Roads reporting icy sections along their patrols late Monday and it was cold overnight.

Temperatures range from -7 along the Lake Huron shoreline to -14 in areas like Listowel and Mount Forest.

While it is expected to clear through the morning, wind gusts will be west 20 km/h gusting to 50 km/h then becoming southwest through the afternoon.
