Group works toward sustainable tourism on the Bruce Peninsula

A Sustainable Tourism Advisory Group is working on a new Northern Bruce Peninsula Sustainable Tourism Management Action Plan

Published highlights from Bruce County Council's meeting last week reported the so called STAG group was formed in November with support from Bruce County Council. STAG’s vision is to develop a thriving, collectively managed tourism economy on the Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The highlights said the group will work with tourism organizations, to leverage resources, share expertise, and to implement the principles of sustainable tourism management.   The report said Bruce County Staff will continue to support and help the group execute initiatives so that the visitor experience holds a high standard for safety and enjoyment, in addition to supporting stewardship to the natural environment. Overcoming the challenges around communications, infrastructure, and capacity management is notably a collective effort.
