Peel police say a man from Stratford faces charges after he allegedly used a fake COVID-19 document at the Toronto Airport.
Members of the airport division were called to Pearson International Airport on Monday to assist a Canada Border Service Agency officer and a quarantine officer at the inspection point when a passenger's paperwork appeared to be fraudulent.
Officials say the accused tried to pass off a negative result while being positive for COVID-19.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with using a forged document. He was later released to quarantine in a hotel for 14 days, with an appearance notice to attend a Brampton court on April 19.
According to public health, there are no additional offences violated under the Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPHA) or Emergency Management Act.
