Huron County has opened applications for their annual SLED, or Supporting Local Economic Development program.
As of today (February 8th), applications for SLED funding are open, which provides opportunities for registered non-profits and municipalities to get funding for local projects that address key regional economic development priorities in COVID-19 recovery, workforce attraction, agriculture, tourism, or investment attraction. Recipients of the funding must provide financial resources and support to the project. They must also use the funds in a manner that has a measurable impact economically and provides substantial private sector participation.
Eligible projects must achieve at least one of the following objectives in Huron County: 1. Grows the workforce; 2. Creates diversification of the existing agricultural industry; 3. Creates an exceptional Huron County visitor experience; 4. Develops investment attraction material or resolves investment attraction issues; or 5. Implements measures that support the business community’s recovery from COVID-19.
