South Huron is removing the ice out of one of its arenas.
The municipality is taking the ice out of Stephen Arena in Huron Park.
“We're looking at doing that in the near future. Of course there are no users at this point because of the Provincial orders. So there is a cost to keeping ice in an arena that's not being used, so it's to offset those costs and reduce those costs," said Mayor George Finch.
But it will be a wait and see approach for the South Huron Recreation Centre.
The provincial stay-at-home orders are currently in place until February 9.
Finch says they will make a decision about the ice surface at the recreation complex in Exeter when there is an update from the province.
