Huron-Bruce getting significant funding for infrastructure projects

Huron and Bruce counties, as well as the municipalities within them, are receiving a significant funding package from the provincial government for infrastructure projects.

In a release on January 27th, Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson announced that her riding is receiving just over $8.8 million for local infrastructure projects. The two counties and 14 municipalities will be splitting the funding through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund, or OCIF. The money will be earmarked for road and bridge work as well as water and wastewater infrastructure.

Huron County is receiving the biggest share, with over $2.4 million earmarked for that county's projects. Bruce County will get nearly $661,000, and 14 municipalities will get varying amounts dependent on need and importance of the projects.

The total investment in communities across Huron-Bruce are as follows:
