Robbery investigation results in multiple charges against five individuals

A recent robbery investigation in Goderich has resulted in numerous charges against five people.

On January 16th, 2021 just before 7:30 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to a Bruce Street residence in Goderich to investigate a reported break-an-enter that was in progress.

An investigation revealed that a number of suspects forced their way into the home and then allegedly assaulted the victim of the break-in with a weapon. The home was then ransacked and the suspects fled the scene.

Five people were identified and later taken into custody without incident.

As a result, a 15-year-old Goderich youth, two 35-year-olds from Goderich, a 26-year-old from South Huron and a 49-year-old from Huron East all face numerous charges.

The charges include break and enter to commit an indictable offence and robbery.

The youth was released with a court date scheduled for February 11th in Goderich at the Youth Court of Justice. The adults accused all have varying court dates scheduled to answer to their charges.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
