Owen Sound Police seeking suspect in indecent act investigation

The Owen Sound Police Service is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in connection with an indecent act investigation.

Police said the incident happened just before 4:00 p.m. on January 15 along 3rd Avenue West at 11th Street West. They said a sixteen-year-old girl was walking by a parked vehicle when the driver of the truck got her attention. According to police, the suspect inside the car asked the girl if she wanted a ride, at which point she became concerned and declined.

Police said that when the suspect asked for directions to the hospital, the girl looked inside the car and noticed the suspect committing an indecent act.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 25-35 years old, with short blonde hair that is shaved at the sides. He had facial hair that was two days old.

The truck that the suspect was operating at the time is described as a dark coloured Dodge Ram 1500, with four doors, a short box, and a silver or grey tailgate.

Police said that anyone with information should contact the investigating officer, PC James Boyle #187 at (519) 376-1234 extension 187 or jboyle@owensoundpolice.com, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
