Police lay charges after thief steals pizza delivery vehicle

Huron County OPP have laid numerous charges after a pizza delivery vehicle was stolen recently in Huron East.

On January 2nd at 6:14 p.m., a pizza delivery driver dropped off a pizza at a residence located in Vanastra and upon returning to where his vehicle was parked he noticed it had been stolen. The driver had left the vehicle running as he made the delivery, and a thief made off with it. Police began a search for the vehicle and located it a short time later in Clinton. A short chase ensued and the accused drove down a dead-end road where they finally stopped and tried to flee on foot, but was quickly arrested.

As a result, 37-year-old Waterloo resident Jodi Talbot has been charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000, Flight from Police and Breach of Court Release. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 8, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
