Huron County Warden, Glen McNeil, says there are several things to look forward to this year.
But there's no doubt the brightest is the arrival of the vaccines for COVID-19.
McNeil says there will still be a bit of a wait and we still have to continue to be vigilant and support each other.
McNeil also says when we get the majority of the population vaccinated, and he believes that will happen sooner than most people expect, we will be able to get back to something approaching the old normal.
"Opportunities are going open and we are going to be able to socialize with one another again and that is certainly healthy, not only for mental health however, getting together with our families and our friends and doing more business," said McNeil.
He also expects the economy to generally to start to recover and particularly agriculture to gain ground, especially in Huron,
"We are number one in Ontario and with the up-tick in commodity prices as of late, I look forward to that continuing and we will see, I suggest, more individuals that will choose to relocate and reside in Huron County," added McNeil.
The Huron County Warden does acknowledge that the area desperately needs affordable housing and the County is moving forward on an initiative to bring affordable and supportive housing to the area.
"All residents, all individuals deserve a home to live in and I want everyone to be assured that Huron County is not only taking it seriously, we are walking the talk and we are going to move forward with that in 2021."
