COVID-19 outbreak at Listowel Memorial Hospital declared over

The Listowel Memorial Hospital COVID-19 outbreak was declared over by Huron Perth Public Health effective December 31, 2020.

A total of 5 patients and 9 staff and physicians were identified as part of the outbreak which was first declared December 16th.

The Wingham and District Hospital was able to provide support during the outbreak, and admitted several Listowel patients during that time.

Patient admissions to the Medicine Unit have resumed. The emergency department visits, ambulatory care services, operating room procedures, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging and specialist visits continue to occur.

COVID-19 remains heavily present throughout the area, and the community is encouraged to continue to follow health guidelines. North Perth has had a total of 176 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

There is currently no inpatient visiting permitted at the hospital with the exception of very limited, special circumstances.
