Youth flown to hospital after snowmobile crash

Wellington County OPP say a snowmobile crash has resulted in serious injuries for a youth.

The incident happened on Saturday at about 1:30 p.m. OPP along with paramedic services and the Wellington North Fire Service responded to the collision at an address on Second Line in the Township of Wellington North.

It was reported that a 13-year-old youth was operating a snowmobile on a farm property. The youth lost control of the snowmobile and collided with a concrete barn wall. Police say the operator was not wearing a helmet.

The youth was transported to a local hospital and later flown by Ornge air ambulance to a trauma centre with serious injuries.
