MOH for Grey and Bruce urging families to re-think gatherings

With the Christmas Break for schools just around the corner, the Medical Officer of Health for Grey and Bruce is urging families to re-think playdates and birthday parties.

Dr. Ian Arra says the health unit is urging everyone to stay within the guidelines and stay safe by limiting engagement with others outside the immediate family. He adds guidelines for schools and businesses include sanitizing, wearing a mask and personal distancing while those protective measures may not be followed as closely in a home setting.

To date, the majority of COVID-19 cases in Grey and Bruce are due to community transmission, through family gatherings, dinners, and celebrations.

Dr. Arra says every additional contact from outside a household increases the risk.
