Saugeen Shores whittling at the budget

Saugeen Shores council discussed the 2021 budget during a virtual meeting Wednesday.

Council’s goal is to maintain their current levels of service, while continuing to build capacity for future projects through the Legacy Fund. Council is working towards a 0% change in the municipal tax rate, contributing to a blended increase between municipal, county, and education rates of less than 1%.

In a release the town called it a “one time opportunity” to support the community and businesses throughout COVID-19.

Council also expressed their support for the construction of Lamont Sports Park in 2021.

Council will continue budget deliberations in the new year.
