Bruce County saw strong residential activity in the the third quarter of 2020. Applications for planning and development picked up in the third quarter after a slower second quarter.
Residential lot creation included 88 new subdivision lots. New town homes are being developed in subdivisions at Summerside in Port Elgin and Walker West Estates in Walkerton. There was also an increase in smaller-scale construction projects with variance applications.
The agricultural sector continued to be resilient, with 15 agricultural applications and 5 farm consolidations. The potential population growth in the third quarter was estimated at 266.
