The facility is set to house a total of 128 long-term care beds, combining the Ritz Lutheran Villa and the Mitchell Nursing Home to build a new 72,000 square foot structure.
Municipal officials gathered for a small ground-breaking ceremony on Monday, but work on the building has been going on since November 4.
It is expected to be completed in the fall of 2022.
