Bruce County has signed a Declaration of Mutual Commitment and Friendship with a First Nations Centre.
Following the recent Declaration of Mutual Commitment and Friendship by the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC) and the Association of Municipalities (AMO), the M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre and Bruce County are declaring friendship and a mutual commitment to improve the quality of life of Indigenous People in urban centres throughout the area. The declaration was signed on November 5th at the Bruce County Executive Committee Meeting.
As part of the declaration, Bruce County Council will tour the Indigenous Centre in the spring of 2021. There are also plans to plant fruit trees as a symbol of friendship.
