Remembrance Day ceremonies will happen at the cenotaph in Hanover this year but with significant changes due to pandemic restrictions.
Hanover Royal Canadian Legion Branch 130 members will gather November 11th to remember but members of the public are discouraged from attending.
There will be no parade or singing and wreathes will be pre-laid on November 10th.
Hanover Legion president Dan Haverson says the decision to limit attendance was necessary.
"A very difficult decision both by the town and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 130 but it really is in keeping with our current conditions, protocols and safety for everybody in the town," said Haverson.
Haverson encourages schools, churches and other organizations to mark Remembrance Day in their own way.
He says it's important to remember those who made the supreme sacrifice.
"It's important every single year but this year despite the pandemic, despite the things that are going on, we really do need to remember."
The poppy campaign is underway but there are no Legion members canvassing. Poppy boxes have been distributed all over Hanover.
