Small tornado touched down during storm near Thornbury

The Northern Tornadoes Project has confirmed an EF0 tornado near the town of Thornbury during last Friday's severe weather outbreak.

According to the survey team, the tornado followed a path through the town before entering Georgian Bay.

It carried maximum wind speeds of 130 km/h and the length of its path spanned approximately three kilometres.

Tree damage and damage to a power pole and street lamp have been reported.

Environment Canada and the Northern Tornadoes Project has verified 40 tornadoes in Ontario this year.
