Military training exercise to be conducted near Meaford

Residents near Meaford may notice an increased military presence in the sky on Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning.

The 4th Canadian Division Training Centre said members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command and the Royal Canadian Air Force will conduct training in the area, starting on Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. and ending at 3 a.m. on Thursday.

The training will involve CH-146 Griffon Helicopters, and residents should expect to see and hear multiple flights, which could lead to increased periods of noise.

In the release, the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command said it is thankful for the support and understanding of the communities within which it conducts its valuable training.
