Lottery win life changing for Dundalk resident

A Dundalk resident says his life is forever changed after he won a $2 million lottery prize.

31-year-old Cody Kane cashed in some instant tickets and bought an Instant 200X Multiplier ticket while getting gas at Circle K on Toronto Street in Markdale.

“I handed the ticket to the cashier to check it,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his cheque. “The ‘Big Winner’ message appeared but I didn’t know how much I won until the cashier handed me the validation slip!”

Cody called his wife right away to tell her the good news. “I told her to check her text messages. When she saw the photo I sent of the validation slip, she just kept asking ‘Are you kidding me’? And crying harder each time she said it!”

The married father of two, with another one on the way, has quit his job as a satellite installer.

"I can focus now on what I love. My family is growing so I want to buy a new house. I also want to ensure that I enjoy a little of this money but be responsible with the rest,” he smiled.

“I’ve been having a hard time sleeping because it’s been so exciting. I still feel like I’m going to wake up tomorrow and go to work. This win will absolutely change my life and the lives of my family,” he concluded.
