Collision in Huron County sends teen to hospital

Huron OPP officers and paramedics responded to a serious crash between a sport utility vehicle and a horse & sulky race bike.

The collision occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday south of Belmore on Belmore Line near Glenannon Road.

Police said their investigation determined a 14-year-old from South Bruce was training the horse travelling southbound on Belmore Line when the horse and sulky turned left from the shoulder in front of a southbound sport utility vehicle. The two vehicles collided causing the teen to be ejected onto the roadway.

The injured teen remains in hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
