A structure fire kept fire crews busy throughout the evening on Thursday.
Mapleton Fire Rescue tweeted at 9 p.m. on September 3rd that crews were called to a structure fire on County Road 10 and Concession 3 in Mapleton Township. A straw and hay barn caught flame, and the blaze completely destroyed the structure. Crews were on-scene well into the morning of September 4th suppressing the flames. There is no damage estimate at this time but the structure is deemed a total loss.
Mapleton Fire Rescue confirmed just before 9 a.m. this morning that crews had left the scene and turned it over to the owners. The roadway was closed for a lengthy period but has since been reopened by police.
Mapleton Fire Rescue continues to be on scene at County Road 10 and Con. 3. Please remember if you see an emergency road closure sign to obey and stay away. Thanks to @mintofiredept, @GWParamedic & @OPP_WR for your assistance today!
