Police make arrest after tenant threatens landlord

Owen Sound Police Service had to arrest an irate tenant after a local landlord was threatened.

On Sunday, August 30th, a landlord was at an apartment building in Owen Sound conducting property maintenance when a 50-year-old tenant came downstairs and told the landlord to stop working. The tenant went back upstairs, when the landlord noticed water leaking from the ceiling under the tenant's apartment. The landlord shut off the water to prevent further damage, and the tenant became angry and came back downstairs with a baseball bat.

The tenant proceeded to damage two main floor doors, and then verbally threatened the landlord before returning to their apartment. The landlord called police, who came to the scene and arrested the tenant, who was later released with a court date in September to answer to charges of Threats and Mischief.
