MP summarizes new choice of leader

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff says Conservative Party members made the right choice in selecting Erin O'Toole as their new leader.

Ruff, who attended Royal Military College at the same time as O'Toole in the 1990s, said he is confident all Conservatives will unite behind O'Toole.

In a statement, Ruff added that he's looking forward to a "united Conservative caucus when Parliament resumes on September 23."

With the minority government in Ottawa facing a confidence vote this fall, O'Toole may not have a lot of time to introduce himself to Canadians, as an election could come quickly if Parliament is dissolved by the Governor General due to a motion of no confidence, or by a recommendation of the prime minister for a snap election.
