Stratford Police have confirmed an OPP dive team has pulled a body from the St. Marys quarry, which has been closed following a drowning Sunday night.
In a series of tweets Monday morning, police said they were waiting for a dive team to search for the missing person, while asking the public to avoid the area "due to the sensitivity of the situation."
They also thanked Perth County Paramedics, St. Marys fire fighters, and the life guards at the quarry for their help last night.
Stratford Police Service confirmed just before 3 p.m. on Monday that a 63-year-old missing person was recovered deceased in the quarry. The family of the deceased has been notified.
Police closed the quarry around 9 p.m. Sunday.
No other details about the victim, or when the quarry will reopen have been made available at this time.
