Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation goes virtual

COVID-19 has forced the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation to make this year's "Is the Coast Clear" conference a virtual one.

Executive Director Erinn Lawrie said in order to ensure everyone's safety, they had to go to a virtual conference this year. Instead of having everything condensed into two days, as they usually would for the conference, they've decided to spread the event out over six weeks.

The conference will launch Tuesday, September 29 and they'll have sessions every Tuesday until November 3.

“We have a great lineup of speakers and they've all agreed to do a virtual presentation for us instead of coming in person and we've got some live panel interviews planned and some virtual networking sessions,” said Lawrie.

The biennial conference is a major fund-raiser for the centre and information on how people can still donate and a schedule of speakers can be found at lakehuron.ca.
