An investigation into the sound of a gunshot has led to drug charges being laid in Huron County.
Ontario Provincial Police say the events took place on August 7th at about 1:20 pm at a residence on James Street in Dungannon.
Officers determined the sound that was heard was from a firecracker. While investigating, police became suspicious of a pickup truck that was in the process of getting a new paint job. A check by police revealed the 2012 pickup truck was stolen from Oxford County in July and the attached licence plates were reported stolen out of South Bruce. Also while at the property police located and arrested a male for failing to abide by his conditions of his house arrest. Upon searching the accused police located a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine on his person.
A 35 year old male from Central Huron been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 and Under $5,000. As well, he has been charged with Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
A 39 year old female from Goderich has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 and Under $5,000.
Both have been released from custody with court dates scheduled for October 19th.
A 40 year old man from Goderich has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking, Fail to Comply with Release Order (2 counts) and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 20th.
