Mapleton fire ban lifted

The Township of Mapleton Fire Chief has lifted the open-air burn ban that was issued on July 6.

After the weekend rainfall, with more rain in the forecast, the Fire Chief decided residents can again enjoy a fire, but people are asked to keep it under 2m by 2m unless they get an open-air burn notification from the fire department.

As of Monday, July 13th, the township will start receiving open-air burn notifications.

The Fire Department thanks the community for their patience and assistance in keeping residents safe.

Without a Burn Notification the Fire Department reserves the right to charge property owners at the current MTO rate if called out to their burn. Notifications must be submitted before 4 pm the day before burning, and an approval email or call must be received before you begin to burn.

To fill out a Burn Notification go to https://mapleton.formbuilder.ca/Fire-Department-Forms/Open-Air-Burn-Notification.
