Research to look at health care workers

One of four students spending the summer with the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health says her project will focus on the impact of COVID-19 on health care workers in Huron County.

Taylor Pratt said she sent out surveys to everyone involved in the fight against COVID-19 from front line workers to administration and custodial workers.

"It's researching the impact of COVID-19 on rural health care workers in Huron County and we're just investigating the impact that COVID-19 has had on the rural health care system," said Pratt. "Front line workers, but also second line workers, so it's anyone working during the COVID-19 pandemic, so anyone, really, who is working in the health care industry during the pandemic."

Pratt said her focus will be on mental health but she's also asking about personal health and well-being.
