A program designed to support local economic development in Huron County has become popular over the last three years.
It's known as SLED and the deadline for new applications is August 31.
Warden Jim Ginn said since it was started and the range of projects that are accepted has grown considerably.
“There's certainly criteria to it and, again, they're looking for partnerships more so than just a stand-alone funding. So whether it's private sector or municipal sector or some other source of money, so that we get more bang for the dollars,” said Ginn.
More information about the SLED program, as well as applications, can be found on the Huron County Economic Development Department website.
