Fanshawe adjusts start dates for programs in Huron and Bruce

Fanshawe College has adjusted its start dates for programs in Huron and Bruce this fall.

Program Manager Heather MacKenzie-Card said concerns for the safety of staff and students while continuing social distancing have forced them to move their start date back until September 21.

"We've done that so that we can ensure that we've got everything prepped that we need for the students before they return. As much theory as we can will be done online or virtually," said MacKenzie-Card.

MacKenzie-Card added that when she says online, that doesn't mean an instructor puts up a power point.

"And when I say online I always like to remind people that it's not an instructor putting up a power point and just talking to a power point. It's really about engaging students in different platforms that the college has access to and there is a team right now working on all of those pieces," added MacKenzie-Card.

She said students will be coming to classes in smaller groups for practical pieces or labs that they need and placements will be in the community.
