The Mayor of Bluewater says the Blue Flag won't be flying on the Bayfield Main Beach this summer.
Paul Klopp says the reason is simple, the water levels are so high there is no beach.
Klopp says the marina is now open and the Blue Flag will be flying there.
"The Blue Flag in the marina will be flying as it is now open. Right now our beach is closed by the Province, but short of something happening, like the water table going down, we probably won't have much of a beach there to have a flag flying anyway," said Klopp.
The Blue Flag has flown on the Bayfield Beach for the last ten years.
It represents an eco-label that is awarded to beaches, marinas, and sustainable boating tourism operators.
