New Grey Bruce climate website launched

The Grey Bruce Sustainability Network and the Climate Action Team Grey-Bruce have put together a new climate action website.

"After listening to what local environmental groups need to make their efforts more effective," said Leigh Grigg from GBSusNet. "We've come up with a simple website with three buttons that will engage the public; local events, local groups and collaboration. What we've heard from many conversations is that people want to 'think globally and act locally' but can't sort through the mass of information or competing interests for their attention."

Climate action doesn't always mean marching in the streets or donating to a charity and examples of local climate action can be more personal such as attending an event to learn how healthy soil captures carbon, speaking with your wallet by shopping directly at family farms, or volunteering with a food bank to serve those affected by food insecurity.

"211ontario does a great job of indexing charities & services," said Grigg. "but it's by going to greybruceclimateaction.ca that you'll easily find the Grey & Bruce County organizations you need that can also help fight climate change. You will see close to 400 listings, but the list narrows quickly and conveniently for you as you type."
