A London man is facing several charges after police in the municipality of West Grey stopped a stolen vehicle and seized a handgun.
The West Grey Police said on Tuesday at around 2:40 p.m., officers stopped the stolen vehicle north of the town of Durham and arrested the driver.
During a search of the vehicle, officers seized marijuana, ammunition, a canister of pepper spray, and a handgun. The stolen vehicle was also seized.
As a result, a 22-year-old London man is now charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, four counts of breaching probation, failing to comply with an undertaking, possession for the purpose of distributing, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a firearm while committing an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited device/ammunition, and theft under $5,000.
The man is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
