Perth East resident loses money to lottery scam

A news release from Perth County OPP is warning residents to avoid a lottery scamp after a Perth East resident lost $1,000 to fraudsters.

The resident was told they won several million dollars and complied when told to send money to receive their winnings. However, the scammers are now repeatedly calling the victim demanding more money.

if you are told you have won a large amount of money from an International Lottery or a new vehicle, you should hang up the phone
