The Owen Sound Police Service has concluded an investigation into two separate arson cases and charged a local youth.
The fires both took place at a west side apartment building, one on August 15, 2019 and the second on February 29 of 2020. The Owen Sound Fire Department responded in both cases and were able to limit the spread of the fires. Luckily the fires did not result in any injuries.
Investigators worked with the fire department and residents in the apartment building to ultimately determine that the fires were deliberately set.
As a result, an Owen Sound youth has been charged with two counts of arson causing damage to property and is scheduled to appear at the Youth Court of Justice in July of 2020.
