People driving into Bayfield from the north will notice a slight change over the last week.
The old bridge is now being torn down and there is a temporary bridge.
Bayfield Ward Councillor Bill Whetstone says a good winter has kept the project on schedule, which meant getting traffic on the temporary bridge and tearing down the old bridge by early spring and that has been accomplished.
Whetstone says the complete construction is supposed to end by the fall of 2021.
Whetstone adds he hasn't had a recent update from the MTO but he believes they're hoping to have the new permanent bridge operational by the end of this summer or into the fall of this year.
After that, they'll have to tear down the temporary bridge, plant grass and generally clean up the site and that's what will take them into the fall of 2021.
