Clinton residents asked to review security camera footage for an arson investigation

Investigators from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police Crime Unit investigators need the public's help to solve an arson that took place in Clinton.

It happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020. Central Huron Fire Department and Huron OPP responded to a house fire located on Rattenbury Street West in Clinton.

The lone occupant of the bungalow escaped the fire bud suffered a minor injury. Additionally, three dogs perished in the blaze, two vehicles parked in the laneway were extensively damaged and the home was completely destroyed.

The estimated value of the damages is in excess of $500,000.

The subsequent investigation has revealed three suspects ran out of the victim's backyard and fled the scene running northbound on North Street North.

Residents and business owners in Clinton should review any possible video security surveillance systems during the early morning hours of Friday, March 27, 2020. Investigators are hopeful a security camera may have captured valuable information that could help solve the case.
