The General Manager of the REACH Centre in Clinton says this year has been a particularly challenging one, more than anything else, because of the uncertainty in scheduling.
Matt Lee says the end of the school year came early because of COVID-19 and now they're re-scheduling events but with no guarantee that they'll be able to stick to the revised schedule.
“We had dog agility scheduled for Provincial rounds in April, school rodeo was to do their season opener," said Lee. "And we do a lot of those where groups come to us early in the spring, run their first event of the year and then they go and compete in fairs and outdoors and then come back and finish up their championships with us in the fall.”
Lee adds, they're currently scheduling their barrel racing groups in for June and July and the hope that they get their season started by then. But he says that uncertainty is their biggest challenge right now.
"Everybody wants to get up and get going but there's bigger things at stake here. And all we're trying to do is find enough room on the schedule for everyone right now,” stated Lee.
Lee suggests anyone looking for the date of a particular event, check the REACH website on a regular basis leading up to that event because right now it's a moving target.
