Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority trails are closed to the public until further notice.
Stewardship Manager Kate Monk said the provincial directive that all outdoor recreational facilities be closed was one reason.
But another reason was that were complaining about over-crowding.
"The use of conservation areas actually went up drastically in the past few weeks when recreational facilities closed and people wanted to get outside. So it was a perfect storm of use increasing just when it was a concern for people to be together," said Monk.
