Wellington County officials are working closely with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health to respond to the evolving situation related to COVID-19.
In addition to the operational changes already made, county officials are now asking all non-essential staff to work from home.
County Waste Facilities is closed to the public but curbside collection will continue. However, all non-essential county deliveries will be halted.
County Social Services Offices are closed to public and residents needing emergency assistance are asked to call 519.837.6274.
“Following the advice of the prime minister and the premier, the county and all seven local municipalities will be further reducing services to just essential personnel with other staff expected to provide support when required,” said Warden Kelly Linton. “These difficult decisions are necessary to help slow the rate of the COVID-19 virus. The county will continue to work with all seven local municipalities to operate essential services as best we can. We all need to do our part to protect our vulnerable populations.”
The County of Wellington will continue to monitor the situation closely and we will be making all appropriate changes as necessary.
