OPP charge driver with attempted murder following fail-to-remain collision investigation

A South Bruce resident has been charged with attempted murder following a fail-to-remain collision investigation.

On March 11th at 2:13 pm, Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and North Huron Fire Department responded to London Road (Huron County #4) and Josephine Street North following reports that a pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck and the driver fled the scene.

The adult victim was taken to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Following an investigation, Huron County OPP arrested a 40-year-old South Bruce resident Vincent Fitzsimons on March 12th and charged the accused with the following:

-Attempted Murder -Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm -Fail to Stop After An Accident Causing Bodily Harm

The accused remains in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for March 16, 2020. Anyone with more information should contact Huron County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
