Owen Sound police wrapped up an investigation surrounding the circumstances of the death of a member of the West Grey Police Service.
Constable Cory Trainer, 28, was found dead in a police vehicle on Sideroad 6 in Southgate Township early Tuesday morning.
On Wednesday, investigators with the Owen Sound Police Service attended a post mortem examination with the coroner during which a determination was made that Trainor died from a self-inflicted injury.
Police encourage anyone who needs assistance or knows of someone who needs assistance to reach out for support through local health service providers.
The Owen Sound Police Service has expressed sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Constable Trainor.
