Owner Betty Marshall says they will be reducing excessive noise, sounds and other stressors to make for a more accessible shopping experience "for those with autism and other sensitivities".
Marshall notes that other locations have tried the idea recently and have received very positive feedback.
Sensory-friendly shopping will take place at Foodland every Thursday from 6-8pm.
The first day of the five-day celebration of agriculture and rural living will include opening ceremonies, plowing competitions, and a demo by the Canadian Cowgirls drill team.
