A Goderich author is in the process of getting her second book out.
Wendy Million, 41, got her first book published, a suspense novel called "Retribution."
"Before I got the agent and the book published, writing was a hobby for me. It was something that I enjoyed doing in my spare time, it was a nice outlet for my own feeling and for things going on in my life," Million told CKNX News. "Now that I have a book deal and I have an agent and so forth, it feels like just the start."
Million said for her, the characters in her story take on a life of their own which allows her to move the story forward.
"It sounds really strange but they do take on a life of their own and then it's about plots you want to play. For me as a writer, I always need to know where I'm going to end up so I can weave the story to get to that place," said Million.
She was able to get the book deal with Champagne Book Group and is currently editing the second book of the series and writing the third.
"There are four rounds of editing that happens before the book ever gets onto the shelves," said Million. "So that's what I'm doing right now, I'm revising book two and writing book three at the moment as well."
