The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission is investigating following a "heavy water" spill early Thursday morning at Bruce Power.
Both the C.N.S.C. and Bruce Power said the spill has since been cleaned up, there was no risk to workers, the public or the environment.
Heavy water is used as a coolant in the nuclear fission process.
The area where the spill happened, which was on the floor of the building housing the Unit 2 reactor, is not part of the ongoing Major Component Replacement project, which is an ongoing 13-year program that will cost $13 billion as six of the eight reactors at Bruce Power are refurbished.
