Death Cafe planned for Port Elgin Saturday

People can help plan for a good death by attending a Death Cafe hosted by Huron Shores Hospice.

The free session starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Port Elgin Library and runs until noon. It's open to everyone who would like to share, learn and listen to others' experiences around death and dying.

Hospice Co-Chair Cheryl Cottrill said it is an effort to help people talk about a difficult subject.

Saturday will not be a grief counselling event, though they do offer that service.

The hospice operates a suite at Tiverton Park Manor and is fundraising to add a second bed.

Huron Shores Hospice also has a long term plan to open a stand-alone facility in Kincardine.
