Listowel Cyclones host 'Get In Touch for Hutch' night for mental health awareness

On Friday night, the Listowel Cyclones will once again host a "Get In Touch for Hutch" night as part of the team's initiative to talk about mental health.

Myrna Hutchison, the founder of the Get In Touch for Hutch organization, will be there with fellow organization members to help raise awareness and break down the barriers surrounding mental health issues and suicide prevention.

Get In Touch for Hutch was founded by Hutchison and her family after her son Steven committed suicide nearly seven years ago.

Hutchison said the perception of mental health and suicide awareness has really changed from when they started the organization, during a time when many people didn't want to talk about mental health.

Get In Touch for Hutch will have an info booth set up at the rink tomorrow night when the Cyclones play the Elmira Sugar Kings in Listowel, with details on mental health resources and suicide prevention.
