The Province has allotted “local priorities” funding of $67,000 over the course of three years to the Hanover Police Services Board for the Community Trail and the Downtown Safety Initiative.
The Hanover Police Services Board and the Hanover Police Service have announced the funding will enhance police presence in community parks, trails and downtown.
Police Services will engage strategic community safety partners that provide services and support to residents experiencing mental health issues, addiction, poverty, homelessness and family violence.
Hanover police Cheif Chris Knoll believes it will have a positive impact on community well-being while making the Town of Hanover stronger, safer and more secure.
In a press release issued yesterday in Cambridge, Sylvia JONES, Solicitor General stated, “Our police services and their partners know best what they need to combat crime in their communities. The investment they are making today will help deploy additional frontline officers and take action where and when it is needed most."
